Tamarin Bay is THE surf spot of the island – with a few local surf schools based right there. Near the village of Black River, it's also one of the best spots to watch wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Early risers can join a dolphin-watching tour in the calm morning waters. Tamarin is also the departure point for mangrove canoe expeditions at sunrise or sunset. The surrounding mountains make for a great backdrop for landscape photography. On weekdays the beach is peaceful and calm, but on weekends it fills with locals who visit with families and friends. Street food is available right on the beach.
